TMEIC TMdrive-70 Medium Voltage AC Drives
High-Power Performance with Compact Efficiency
The TMdrive-70 is a rugged, water-cooled, fully digital vector-controlled drive
system designed for high-demand applications requiring precise speed and torque
control. Utilizing advanced IEGT (Injection Enhanced Gate Transistor) switching
technology, the drive delivers high power density and system efficiency while
maintaining a compact footprint. Its modular converter, inverter, and cooling
unit design allows for flexible installation, lower floor space requirements, and
reduced infrastructure costs—making it ideal for applications ranging from metal
mills and compressors to grinding mills and mine hoists.
Flexible Architecture and Scalable Power Conversion
Engineered for versatility, the TMdrive-70 supports both induction and synchronous
motors and offers a choice between active regenerative or diode-based
non-regenerative AC-to-DC converters. Available in power levels from 5.000 to
40.000 kVA at 3.3 kV, it meets stringent IEEE-519-1992 harmonic guidelines while
integrating seamlessly with TMEIC’s control ecosystem, including the PP7 processor
and TMdrive Navigator tool. With scalable inverter and converter configurations—
including parallel arrangements of the TMdrive-D70 and TMdrive-P70—the TMdrive-
70 delivers unmatched control, flexibility, and reliability for high-capacity operations.
The TMdrive-DCe2 is a family of DC system drives for new and
retrofit applications.

wave to the motor and power system.
• Low on-state IEGT voltage yields high efficiency.
• Motor and Power System Friendly Higher chopping frequency lowers the torque ripple
in the motor and load, and lowers harmonics fed back into the power system.
• Low power level voltage switched gate circuit has far fewer components than IGCT
current-controlled gate, increasing inherent reliability.
• Harmonics fed back into the power system are reduced to less than IEEE-519-1992
recommendations with no filters
