This technical document is intended to cover most aspects

associated with the installation, application, operation and

maintenance of the Eaton FP-5000 Protective Relay. It is provided

as a guide for authorized and qualified personnel only in the

selection and application of the FP-5000 Protective Relay. Please

refer to the specific WARNINGS and CAUTIONS that follow

before proceeding. If further information is required by the

purchaser regarding a particular installation, application or

maintenance activity, a Eaton representative should be

The HCU16 HART units connect to 16 general purpose field instruments

while maintaining channel to channel isolation. Resistor conditioning

options are compatible with all types of I/O cards. It allows pass-through

connections for transmitter power supply, input signal and common.

The HCU16AO unit includes HART filters for use with I/O cards that are

incompatible with HART communication signals.

Customised backplanes and connection units are available to provide

direct connection from DCS I/O cables, replacing the standard termination

boards.
