AMAT

AMAT 0190-16926 and 0190-16928 are high-performance DeviceNet Scanner Cards built on the CompactPCI (cPCI) architecture.

The Applied Materials (AMAT) 0190-16926 and 0190-16928 are high-performance DeviceNet Scanner Cards built on the CompactPCI (cPCI) architecture.

Manufactured for AMAT by SST (Woodhead/Molex), these 3U form-factor modules act as the primary communication “brains” for 300mm semiconductor tools, managing the digital orchestration of sensors, valves, and mass flow controllers.

Related Models

These scanner cards are part of a tiered family of SST communication interfaces used in AMAT racks:

0190-10156: Single-channel version (SST-DNP-CPCI-3U-1).

0190-10155: Dual-channel version (SST-DNP-CPCI-3U-2).

0190-34511: Advanced Bus Scanner (ABS) for newer tool generations.

0190-07450: 48-Channel Digital I/O card (often in the same rack).

Application Cases

These 4-channel cards are utilized in the most complex 300mm wafer processing platforms:

AMAT Producer GT / SE: Managing massive gas box arrays where separate networks are needed for throughput.

Centura and Endura 2: Coordinating real-time feedback from high-speed robotic wafer transfers.

Complex Slurry Delivery: Used in CMP tools (like Reflexion LK) to bridge multiple DeviceNet-ready slurry pumps and monitors.

Product Advantages and Features

4-Channel Density: Allows a single slot to manage up to 252 DeviceNet nodes (63 per channel), maximizing rack space efficiency.

Zero CPU Overhead: The on-board processor manages the DeviceNet stack, ensuring the tool’s main computer remains fast and responsive.

Deterministic Communication: Critical for sub-millisecond safety interlocks and process gas switching.

Ruggedized Architecture: CompactPCI design offers high resistance to vibration and heat in a 24/7 cleanroom environment.

Other Models in the Same Series

0190-15XXX Series: Modern digital interface and UPA communication boards.

0190-24XXX Series: Single Board Computers (SBCs) that act as the host for these scanner cards.

0190-11XXX Series: Safety interlock and hardwired logic modules.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation: Insert into a peripheral 3U cPCI slot. Use the injector handles to firmly seat the backplane pins. Secure the captive screws to ensure the card is grounded.

Addressing: Ensure the Scanner MAC ID (typically Node 00) does not conflict with any peripheral devices on any of the 4 networks.

Termination: Every channel requires two $121\Omega$ resistors—one at each physical end of the trunk line.

Maintenance: Monitor the front LEDs. Flashing Green means online but no active connection; Solid Red indicates a physical network failure or a duplicate MAC ID.

Unique Product Description

The AMAT 0190-16926 and 0190-16928 are the “super-hubs” of the semiconductor fab. While standard cards handle simple tasks,

these 4-channel powerhouses allow a single 300mm tool to “speak” to hundreds of components simultaneously without latency.

By splitting data across four independent networks, they prevent the digital traffic jams that can lead to scrapped wafers, making them the gold standard for high-bandwidth communication in the fab.
