About the 8237-1600

8237-1600

Model 8237-1600 can be configured to work with any size turbine, as long as it is powered by steam, gas, or water.

Speed readouts for this over acceleration device are between 4 and 20 mA. This model will safely shut down any size turbine if it begins to dangerously speed up.

The panel mount has a backplane structure making repairs and replacements easy. Model 8237-1600 can be easily integrated into any turbine system, and it comes with Modbus communications.

8237-1600

It’s equipped with MPU detection in addition to acceleration detection. The coating of this product makes it resistant to sulfur contamination, and it can be used in class 3C2 environments.

It has IEC 721-3-3 1994 international standards.

It uses three independent trip relays, and low and high voltage power inputs. Model 8237-1600 also uses two out of three voted architecture.

This over-speed detection device has a triple module design, making repairs possible while the system is still online. One module can be worked on while the other two are operating.

Product 8237-1600 can also perform routine speed tests with an internal generator and frequency. Woodward has discontinued this turbine safety device.
